Here is a convo that just happened. “Hey nice Volkswagen!”

Me- “Thanks”

- “Is that a hybrid?”

Me - “No it’s a GTI”

- “Oh I thought all of those were hybrids.”

Me- “Volkswagens?”

- “No...hatchbacks, aren’t all hatchbacks hybrids?”

Me - “Some are, most aren’t...this one is just...regular.” (I slowly walk away)

I was so tempted to say, “Yeah, it’s a forced-air/gas hybrid”...but I didn’t want to be an ass.

real talk blue highlights might as well be a dead giveaway for hybrids and green for electric. if your gti looks like the one posted I totally get that question. red is the only acceptable highlight for a performance car

Anyone remember how back in the days before we had hybrid cars, an import with a swapped engine was referred to as a hybrid?

As in, if you took a Civic and threw in a B18 engine from an Integra, you’d refer to it as a hybrid.

Am I the only one that likes the Prius C? It’s not exciting, but it’s small and practical. Why not save gas during the week and feed that to your weekend car?

They definitely serve a purpose, and do their one job well. If I had a long daily commute in rush hour traffic I'd be hard pressed not to seriously consider one.
